Earth at Perihelion

Image
Image Credit: BYJUS Kepler's law tells us that planets revolve around the Sun in an elliptical orbit and the Sun remains at one of its two focuses. While completing their orbit they come closer to its focus (The Sun) and are sometimes at the farthest location. The Earth in a similar fashion revolves around the Sun and comes closer to the Sun, the closest point to the Sun is known as perihelion. It generally occurs on January 3 every year. When the Earth is at the farthest location from the Sun it is known as Aphelion which generally falls on July 04. Why do we experience winter in India (Northern Hemisphere) despite the Earth being closest to the Sun? As we know the Earth is tilted on its axis twenty-three degrees and thirty minutes which decides which portion of the Earth is inclined towards the sun and which portion is tilted against it. The portion inclined towards the Sun gets more insolation and experiences summer. When the Earth enters into Winter Solstice on 22nd December, t...

Unpredictable Public Service Commission (UPSC)

Image
Recently UPSC conducted its prelims exam 2023 for civil services, the level of the exam was quite high and the difficulty level breached all its previous records. Perhaps, this appreciation is what UPSC wishes to attract. But at what cost? The second paper of the Prelims exam (CSAT) was beyond its syllabus which UPSC mentions in its advertisement. The advertisement for the exam clearly mentions the level of the exam of Xth standard but the questions asked were of CAT and IIT JEE (toughest Maths based exams for the entrance of Management and Technology Institutes ) level. The rationale behind the CSAT exam, when this was introduced, was to test the basic numerical and comprehension level of the aspirants and not to make another maths-based exam for qualifying civil services exam. This rationale has been defeated completely this year as most of the candidates who are qualifying this year are from a technical background or their guess has worked in their favor, both are not suitable for t...

Animal : Review

Image
★★★★🟂 Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandana starring film Animal has created a new hype among viewers. The film is attracting both praise and controversy. The plot of the movie is straight; a story of love for his father by a son which involves revenge, bloodshed, and the super id of the character Ranvijay. You may feel the lack of connectivity between the changing scenes but background music and superb acting of all the caste has overpowered that. A viewer looking for a new storyline may feel despair, this is an old story that is wrapped in a new style where a hero goes on hunting to avenge his family wounds. The storyline is fabricated and leaves no space to apply logic. Still, the movie is full of entertainment. Expectations of social activists and feminists have also perished, the movie has no message except for the busy fathers who leave no time to take care of their children and later blame them for their carelessness when they become animals(id overtakes ego and superego). I...

THEORY OF LIGHT AND YOUR GOAL

Image
The photon theory of light tells us that light travels in the tiny particles/packets known as photons. Each photon has its energy depending upon the frequency it makes. Similarly, our goal is also full of tiny packets which shed their energy upon you and enable you to realize that goal or say dream. What are these particles/packets and how to grasp them without letting them go waste? What happens with the photons or light particles happens with our goals, when any photon falls on the surface it gives its energy to the nearby particle and this is how we capture the solar energy, photo voltaic cell works on the same principle.  So we have to become that surface on which the photons of our goal are fell and we capture every particle of our goal and miss no one. To capture these particles of our goal say dream or success we have to first identify what our goal is. This seems to be a very simple question but its answer is not that easy. What if I ask you about your dream in one word. Yo...
